"Reborn from the Past"

The Orthodox church of Saint Ioannis Prodromos and the small neighborhood surrounding it were abandoned by order of the archaeological service as ancient building materials for the Temple of Sounio. Built in 1919, it boasts a beautiful and distinctive architectural style. The area feels haunted and is located just a few hundred meters from the Temple of Sounio.

I did some light painting with a torch inside and outside the church to bring it to life. I used a Pentax K1 camera with a 15-30mm f/2.8 lens at ISO 6400, taking 15 photos at 8 seconds each of the sky and 4 photos at 8 seconds each of the church.

I used the Sequator app to stack the sky photos, then Lightroom and Photoshop to merge the final sky photo with the church photo.
