Preyer of the Field

“Whisper of the Earth”

Often during my lunch break, I would go to the small lake located between Sandweiler and Itzig in Luxembourg. I had often observed this human silhouette, and one day after work, I decided to photograph it.

That day, in that field, I felt a profound silence, as if I had stumbled upon something ancient and sacred. The mist, the autumn colors, and the silhouette of the tree merging into a human form must have filled me with a sense of wonder, as if nature itself were whispering a silent prayer.

I took two photos, one normal and one using ICM (Intentional Camera Movement, a technique for creating motion blur): to create a dreamlike atmosphere that reflected my desire to capture more than the visible: to convey a feeling, an emotion, a presence. Then I merged the two photos in Photoshop, keeping only the human form of the tree from the first photo and the ICM from the second.

There may have been a moment of solitude, where the boundary between me and the landscape blurred, giving me a feeling that was both small and deeply connected.
